Nature's answer to retinol
The skin around your eyes is only about half a millimetre thick - thinner, drier and more prone to puffiness than the rest of your face. You can't just tweak a face cream; it's a whole new brief. So we built it on a soothing, lightweight safflower seed oil base and three plant actives that smooth, brighten and hydrate - powered by the natural, clinically-studied alternative to retinol.
Bakuchiol
Retinol alternativeThe natural alternative to retinol - a purified extract from the babchi seed. Its active compound, bakuchiol, is clinically studied to work like retinol, without the irritation.
Mandarin Peel Extract
For immediate softness and glow - skin feels softer and plumper from first use, while bakuchiol works on the longer-term signs of ageing.
Safflower Seed Oil
The soothing, lightweight base rich in linoleic acid that makes it gentle enough for the delicate eye area - delivers lipids without heaviness.

"The eye area is structurally different - thinner, with less oil. You can't just tweak a face cream; it's a whole new brief. We had to be doubly sure it wouldn't irritate the delicate skin around the eyes."

How it works: bakuchiol targets the same skin receptors as retinol but without converting to retinoic acid - so the results come without the inflammatory side effects.
How to use
Cleanse first
After the Cleansing Balm, pat skin dry.
Tap gently around the eye
Use your ring finger - the lightest touch - on the orbital bone, not the lash line, until absorbed.
Morning & night
Photostable and safe in daylight, unlike retinol - so you can use it day and night.
Your questions, answered
I reacted badly to retinol - why would this be different?
Retinol works by converting to retinoic acid - and that conversion is what triggers the redness, peeling and "retinisation" many people react to. Bakuchiol, the active in our babchi seed extract, delivers comparable smoothing and firming through a different, gentler pathway, without that conversion. So you get the results without the reaction. It's also unscented and formulated for sensitive skin.
What exactly is bakuchiol?
Bakuchiol is a plant compound found in the babchi seed. It's clinically studied to work like retinol - smoothing lines and firming skin - but without the irritation retinol is known for. Its retinol-like effect is supported by two independent, peer-reviewed studies on the ingredient.
Can I use it with my other products - vitamin C, acids, SPF, make-up?
Yes. Unlike retinol, bakuchiol is gentle and stable, so it layers well with vitamin C, exfoliating acids and SPF, and sits comfortably under make-up. Apply after cleansing, before any heavier creams.
Is it suitable through perimenopause and menopause?
Yes - it's a gentle choice for perimenopausal and menopausal skin, which is often drier and more reactive. It's 100% natural, unscented, and formulated for the delicate, sensitive eye area. As always, check with your doctor if you have concerns.
Is there a "purge" or adjustment period, or any sun-sensitivity?
No. There's no "retinisation" or purge period, and — unlike retinol — it's photostable and doesn't increase sun-sensitivity, so you can wear it morning and night.
How long does one jar last?
A little goes a long way — a rice-grain amount per eye, morning and night, means one jar lasts around 8 weeks. That works out to roughly £4.80 per week for a clinically-backed eye treatment.
What if it doesn't work for me?
It's covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee — try it, and if you don't love it, we'll refund you. No fuss.
